How to Maintain and Care for the Drip Irrigation System Equipment?

The use of agricultural irrigation system equipment has become increasingly common in agricultural production, bringing us great convenience. However, like other products, agricultural irrigation equipment also needs maintenance and upkeep. The current agricultural environment is also very complex, and different environmental factors and natural elements can affect the use of irrigation equipment. So, how should agricultural irrigation equipment be maintained? Below we will explain the maintenance of agricultural irrigation system equipment.

Water supply system of the drip irrigation system: Focus on eliminating hidden dangers

Checking the water supply system is mainly to prevent other foreign objects from entering the pipeline. In the use process, the water supply part should be checked regularly to eliminate such hidden dangers. If a water storage tank is built, the sediment, mud, and other sedimentation in the tank need to be cleaned regularly. If a river or stream is used as the water source, the water inlet needs to be checked for impurities. After each irrigation cycle, all pipes need to be emptied of water and the valves should be sealed.

Pipe system of the drip irrigation system: Needs regular flushing

The pipe system of agricultural irrigation drip equipment will inevitably have sediment and residue of some agricultural fertilizers. Flushing is necessary. If the water quality of the water source is not good and there are many small impurities, the pipeline needs to be cleaned regularly. Once a week, the end of the PE pipe can be disassembled, and the small particles can be flushed by soaking and rinsing the pipe upside down in water. During the flushing process, not all pipes need to be opened. Opening them in sequence is sufficient. After cleaning, be sure to empty the water from the pipes and seal the pipes.

Maintenance of the drip irrigation system equipment in winter: Dismantling is the main protection method

In winter, the weather is relatively cold, especially in northern regions, where the risk of damage to irrigation equipment is high if proper protection measures are not taken. In winter, the protection measure for drip irrigation equipment is mainly dismantling and recycling. All removable parts should be dismantled as much as possible, cleaned, and the water in the pipes should be emptied and stored to prevent foreign objects from entering. When dismantling the valves, pipes, and connectors, care should be taken to protect the plastic parts, to avoid damage during disassembly. If there are damaged parts, they should be replaced when used the following year. Some parts that cannot be dismantled should be thoroughly cleaned before the winter season arrives. After flushing, drain the water from the pipes to prevent freezing.
