When the valve is open, this hole aligns with the pipeline, allowing water to flow through; when the valve is closed, the ball rotates 90 degrees, and the hole becomes perpendicular to the water flow, completely cutting off the flow. Irrigation ball valves are usually made of plastic (such as PVC, PP), brass, or stainless steel, with good corrosion resistance and structural stability.

Material Selection and Water Quality Adaptability


Depending on the source of water used (well water, river water, tap water, etc.), the corresponding material of the irrigation ball valve should be selected. For example, if the water contains corrosive impurities or fertilizers, it is recommended to choose ball valves made of highly corrosion-resistant materials such as PVC or PP; if the system pressure is high or long-term stable operation is required, brass or stainless steel ball valves can be selected.


Valve Size and System Compatibility


The specifications of irrigation system pipelines vary, ranging from 16mm microtubes to 110mm large-diameter main pipes, requiring the selection of ball valve sizes that match the pipelines to ensure tight connections and sufficient flow. Common irrigation ball valve specifications range from DN15 to DN100.


Operation Mode and Control Requirements


For scenarios with frequent manual operations, ball valves with smooth opening and moderate torque should be selected; if remote control or automated irrigation systems are needed, ball valves with electric or pneumatic actuators can be selected to enhance the system's intelligence level.


Pressure and Temperature Resistance


Irrigation systems often operate under outdoor high-temperature or high-pressure conditions, so ball valves should have good pressure and temperature resistance. Generally, the working pressure of irrigation ball valves should not be less than 1.0MPa, and the temperature range should cover from -10℃ to 60℃ to cope with outdoor environmental changes.
