Two Major Misunderstandings of Daily Maintenance of Filters

Two Major Misunderstandings of Daily Maintenance of Filters

We often think that a cylindrical strainer can be used as long as it still works. Is this really the case? In fact, no matter what machine it is, it all has its own service life.

It also needs us to maintain and preserve types of irrigation filters, but we often ignore this point. We won't replace it until it is completely damaged and cannot work.

Next, I will explain to you the two major misunderstandings of the daily maintenance of the filter and how to carry out normal maintenance, so that our filtering effect can achieve a satisfactory effect.

Ⅰ. The filter element of cylindrical strainer with bypass valve can not be cleaned or replaced for a long time after it is clogged

By understanding, many users will think that the bypass valve of the strainer and the safety valve of the system have the same function. As a result, they always believe that the filtering effect and the working system will not be affected after the filter element is clogged as long as the bypass valve of the strainer is opened and the filtrate is thoroughly passed through. In fact, it is a wrong understanding.

When the bypass valve of the cylindrical strainer is opened, the impurities that have already been filtered out will re-enter with the opened bypass valve and cause secondary pollution. The concentration of impurities will further increase again, which will greatly damage the hydraulic components. So the previous pollution control will also lose its meaning.

If the continuation degree required by the system is not high, try to choose a strainer without a bypass valve.

Ⅱ. Judge the quality of the filtering performance of the cylindrical strainer based on its service life

Some industries do not have oil pollution inspection equipment. They usually define how well the strainer performs according to its service life or the clogging degree of the filter element. This is a method that cannot be taken because it is one-sided and accidental.

The performance of filters such as agricultural sand filters, should be judged from its filtration ratio, dirt holding capacity, and original pressure loss.

Ⅲ. How to maintain the cylindrical strainer?

1. Coarse strainer

As we all know, the core part of the strainer is the filter element. The filter element is mainly composed of a filter frame and steel wire mesh. Generally, stainless steel wire mesh is used. But as stainless steel has low hardness and is relatively easy to deform, more attention need be paid.

No matter how good the filter is, after working for a period of time, the filter element will accumulate some impurities, then the flow rate of the cylindrical strainer will be reduced, and the filtered liquid will also be mixed with many impurities. So the purity will not be high.

When cleaning the filter, be sure to pay more attention to the deformation of the stainless steel wire mesh. If any deformation or damage is found, replace it immediately.

2. Precision filter

The core part of the precision filter is the filter element which is composed of special materials. It is a vulnerable part and needs special protection. When the precision filter has been working for a period of time and the cylindrical filter element intercepts a certain amount of impurities, the impurities in it should be removed in time and the filter element should be cleaned at the same time.

Many precision filter elements cannot be reused because of their high purity requirements, such as bag filter element, polypropylene filter element, etc. If the filter element is found to be deformed or damaged, it needs to be replaced immediately from a reliable irrigation system supplier.

After cleaning, be sure to keep it dry as soon as possible to prevent the metal components from rusting. At the same time, pay attention to rust prevention, paint or butter on the flange, and heat preservation is also needed.
