What Are the Advantages of Drip Fertigation?

Compared with conventional fertilization methods, drip fertigation has the following advantages:

1. Drip fertigation saves labor

In the production process of fruit trees, water and fertilizer management consume a lot of labor. After drip fertigation, water and fertilizer are managed simultaneously, saving a lot of labor. Now that labor prices are getting higher and higher, the application of drip fertigation technology can significantly save production costs.

2. Drip fertigation increases fertilizer utilization

Water and fertilizer are directly delivered to the root system, which can make full use of nutrients and rapid absorption by the root system. Because the water and fertilizer solution is evenly distributed in the soil, the nutrient distribution is highly uniform, and the absorption efficiency of the root system is improved. Traditional fertilization and irrigation are carried out separately.

After the fertilizer is applied to the soil, due to the lack of timely irrigation or insufficient irrigation, the fertilizer exists in the soil and the root system is not fully absorbed. Under the field drip fertigation system, the utilization rate of nitrogen can reach 90%, phosphorus can reach 50~70%, and potassium can reach 95%. Increased fertilizer utilization means less fertilizer application, which saves fertilizer.

3. Precise fertilization of drip fertigation

It can flexibly, conveniently, accurately and quickly control the amount and time of fertilization, and can fertilize in a targeted manner according to crop nutrition laws, so as to make up for what is lacking, and realize timely and accurate fertilization. Drip fertigation can provide complete nutrition for the crops according to the nutrient characteristics of the crops, complete the fertilization task in a short time, and the crop growth rate is uniform, which is convenient for the management of farms and orchards.

4. Drip fertigation improves the soil environment

The uniformity of drip irrigation can reach more than 90%, which overcomes the soil compaction that may be caused by border irrigation and sprinkler irrigation. Drip irrigation can maintain a good water vapor condition without destroying the original soil structure.

Due to the small amount of soil evaporation and the long time to maintain soil moisture, soil microorganisms grow vigorously, which is conducive to soil nutrient conversion. Using Drip fertigation methods, crops can be grown on barren land. After using drip irrigation fertilization technology, it can ensure the normal growth of crops under these conditions.

5. Drip fertigation improves the ability of crops to resist disaster risks

Drip irrigation makes the supply of water and fertilizer sufficient, balances water and fertilizer, and improves crop growth, which improves the ability to resist disasters. If the drought lasts for a long time, the crops that use drip irrigation fertilization will have high and stable yields, while the artificial irrigation will have poor growth and low yield.
