What You Don't Know About Drip Trickle Irrigation and Fertilization

Ⅰ. Why can drip trickle irrigation save 30-50% of fertilizer?

First of all, using the water and fertilizer integrated drip irrigation system, it is easy to achieve a small amount of multiple fertilization, and fertilization can be applied according to the fertilizer requirements of crops.

Secondly, it can reduce the waste of fertilizer caused by volatilization and leaching, thereby greatly improving the utilization rate of fertilizer. Generally speaking, the lower the soil fertility level, the more obvious the fertilizer saving effect.

Ⅱ. Why can drip trickle irrigation save 90% of fertilization and irrigation labor?

Drip fertigation and watering do not need to go to the ground, do not need to ditch, cover soil, and the speed is fast. The area of thousands of acres can be irrigated and fertilized in one or two days.

Drip fertigation and fertilization is facility irrigation and fertilization, and the operation control of the entire system can easily complete the task of irrigation and fertilization with only one labor force. This has a very obvious effect of saving labor in areas where crops are concentrated and mountain orchards.

Ⅲ. The dripper of the drip trickle irrigation produces water drop by drop, and the water output is so small, can it meet the water demand of crops?

Yes! In fact, there are many options for the dripper flow rate, and the common range is 1.0~10.0 liters/hour.

The choice of dripper flow is mainly determined by the soil texture, usually the heavier the texture, the smaller the dripper flow. Although the water output per second of the dripper is small, the irrigation time is long.

Taking a dripper with a specification of 2.3 liters/hour as an example, if two drippers are arranged for each fruit tree, and the irrigation time is 2.5 hours, each fruit tree will receive 11.5 liters of water, and the water will be 23 liters after 5 hours of irrigation. Drip irrigation can increase the water supply by extending the irrigation time and increasing the number of drippers, which can meet the water needs of crops in various hot climates.

Ⅳ. Which crops are suitable for installation of drip trickle irrigation?

From a purely technical point of view, drip irrigation can be installed on all crops. Evaluating whether a crop is suitable for drip irrigation is mainly evaluated from an economic point of view and the way the crop is planted. Drip irrigation can be used for crops cultivated in rows of ridges, potted plants, various crops in the mountains, economic forests, medicinal materials, etc.

At present, the crops with the largest promotion area are cotton, potatoes, corn, grapes, citrus, bananas, flowers, greenhouse vegetables and sugar beets.

Ⅴ. What are the requirements for water quality of drip trickle irrigation?

Since the drippers for irrigation are precision components, there are certain requirements for the particle size of impurities in the irrigation water. The drip trickle irrigation requires that the particle size is not greater than 120 mesh to ensure that the dripper is not blocked.

If the water source filtration measures and equipment meet the requirements, well water, canal water, river water, mountain pond water, etc. can be used for drip trickle irrigation. Therefore, the water source filtration equipment is the core component of the drip irrigation system. Most of the drip irrigation systems do not work properly, which is caused by the filter equipment not meeting the requirements or the neglect of cleaning the filter.
