Brief Introduction and Application of Drip Irrigation Technology

1. Introduction of drip irrigation technology

The most important thing in drip irrigation technology is not watering, but the integration of water and fertilizer and the precise delivery of water and fertilizer. Corresponding to drip irrigation technology is flood irrigation. Drip irrigation technology is to accurately put water or a solution dissolved in chemical fertilizers near the roots of plants through drip irrigation pipes to avoid waste of water and fertilizer, and eliminate waste of water resources and fertilizer pollution.

Flood irrigation relies on gravity to transport water to the vicinity of the root system, and fertilization is also sprayed on a large area, which consumes a lot of water and fertilizer. Most of them are not absorbed by plants. The water evaporates or flows away, and the fertilizer is lost. water loss causing pollution.

The advantages of drip irrigation are obvious, and it is a prerequisite for agricultural production in arid and semi-arid regions.

For non-arid areas, such as the plains of the middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River, drip irrigation also has unparalleled advantages - it is conducive to accurate water control, and is conducive to fertilization and topdressing. For example, strawberries, tomatoes, grapes and other fruits, humid air can easily cause large-scale mold reproduction. When the fruit matures, it is when the plants need a lot of water and fertilizer. The flood irrigation can easily lead to excessive humidity in the greenhouse, and the large-scale reproduction of molds causes a large number of fruits to rot, which seriously affects the yield.

According to statistics, drip irrigation technology can save more than 90% of water resources and more than 85% of chemical fertilizers.

Combined with other advanced agricultural technologies, drip irrigation can create unexpected benefits. For example, organic substrate cultivation can only be implemented with drip irrigation, which can effectively improve the root environment and achieve higher yields.

Drip irrigation under plastic film can better prevent the loss of water and fertilizer. In the production of organic and green agricultural products, putting standard biological pest repellents in the drip irrigation solution can effectively solve the problem of soil diseases.

2. Drip irrigation is so good, how to use it?

At present, the most widely used drip irrigation material is PE material. PE material has stable chemical properties, is less affected by ultraviolet rays, and is less affected by temperature difference between day and night. It is a new agricultural material with long life and high cost performance.

In terms of service life, a qualified PE material drip irrigation system can be used for about 10 years, and it can be used for more than 8 years in areas with strong ultraviolet rays and large temperature difference between day and night. Facility interior use can even exceed 30 years.

In terms of cost, there are slight differences according to the density of crops and specific varieties. In terms of construction and installation, it is now mainly divided into main pipes, branch pipes, and embedded hole drip irrigation belts. There are various ways to connect between them, but they are all very convenient.

It is recommended to use pre-buried hole drip irrigation tapes in agricultural production, and do not use drip arrows. Drip arrows are easy to block, and the embedded hole drip irrigation tape is not easy to block, and the effect is good.
